N.B. This opportunity is now closed.
We are looking for 8 Hounslow residents to join our Exhibition Collective and help us in creating our next two exhibitions.
The exhibitions will launch in February 2026 before touring across libraries in Hounslow and being seen by thousands of people. One of the exhibitions will explore the topic of Migration, whilst the second will be chosen and developed by you!
Across 10 group sessions between April 2025 and February 2026, you will share your opinions and develop the exhibitions and accompanying programme. During these in person and online sessions you will learn creative skills, meet new people and network with local artists and organisations.
This will include an exhibition visit during the Summer, arranged by CPP Hounslow, to a gallery or arts space either within or outside of the borough to gain inspiration and ideas and an opportunity for us to get together in person.
This is a fantastic opportunity for any Hounslow resident who is interested in contributing towards this excellent exhibition programme and become part of a collective of local people that are passionate about culture in Hounslow.
What is CPP Hounslow’s Visual Arts Programme ?
The Visual Arts Programme is made up of six exhibitions that are hosted in public libraries across the borough. Each year, new exhibitions are developed and curated by a group of residents, formerly known as the Hounslow Exhibitions Group. The programme also includes exhibitions in Community Gallery Spaces, Creative Takeover Day events and other partnership projects.
In line with changes to the programme, we are renaming this the Exhibitions Collective. We are looking for 8 residents – including those who have previously take part in the programme – to join this group from April 2025 to help us create two new exhibitions.
What will the sessions involve?
We will develop the exhibition from scratch, you’ll be supported to:
- Developing a creative brief
- Assessing proposals and interviewing artists
- Exhibition production
- Writing exhibition texts
- Creating a social media campaign
- Organising creative workshops and events
The collective will also have the opportunity to decide on our skills and topics they want to explore during sessions.
What will I gain from this experience?
- Play a crucial role in forming an exhibition that will be seen by thousands of people across Hounslow
- Form connections with others in Hounslow who are passionate about their local culture
- Network with artists and other creatives in the Borough
- Develop new skills through engaging workshops and training sessions
This is an unpaid, volunteer role. Please get in touch if you have any access requirements.
Who is this opportunity open to?
This opportunity is for anyone in Hounslow – whether you live, work or have a connection to the Borough. You do not need to have any experience in creating exhibitions to take part. This programme is designed for everyone- from artists to accountants, students to retirees – interested in contributing their ideas towards a local visual arts programme.
This opportunity is open to everyone, and we encourage applications from those who are currently underrepresented or have faced barriers in entering the creative industries. We are also keen to hear from people with experiences of migration who can bring this valuable insight to the exhibition process.

- can commit to the meeting times, both online and in person. This role involves a regular commitment to attend meetings and occasional events (outlined below)
- are passionate about their local area and its diverse communities
- Have an interest in arts, culture and creativity and are willing to share their opinions and make decisions about the direction of the programme
- want to develop new networks and connections with other local people and creatives
