John Potter

Prahar #1, acrylic on paper, 56 x 41cm. By John Potter.

I am a visual artist based in Isleworth, whose practice encompasses painting, drawing and multi-media to create responses to the changing environments in which I find myself.

Currently I am working on a new series, ‘A Day Inner Life’, which reflects the heightened awareness of time which has prevailed during the current lockdown. It is inspired by classical Indian raga – melodic frameworks which underpin pieces of music written for twelve different phases of the day. The word raga literally means colouring, tinting, or dyeing, and each composition aims to evoke specific feelings in the audience. My series aims to do the same.
