Get Involved in our new art and local history project about Hounslow’s Food Markets!
If you have a story to tell, or want to collect the memories of others, click the button to register:
By taking part you will learn how to interview people to collect their stories, and how to take photographs to show what Hounslow’s food markets are like, and tell the stories of people who work, shop and meet there.
The words and images you capture will become part of an art project that will tour London Borough of Hounslow Libraries for up to two years!
This is a wonderful opportunity to get free training, meet new people in your local area, and be part of a creative project.
The project is open to anyone aged 16 years and over, living, working or studying in London Borough of Hounslow. It is free to take part and your travel expenses will be covered. Please contact cpphounslow@watermans.org.uk if you have any questions about the project.
About the project
CPP Hounslow’s Visual Arts Programme has been awarded a substantial grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund for a new oral history and heritage project titled ‘A Creative Community History of Hounslow’s Diaspora Food Markets’ that celebrates the heritage of Hounslow’s Food Markets and highlighting the diverse diaspora communities who use them.
Throughout 2024 we will be collaborating with Hounslow-based artist Alexis Parinas to work with volunteers and local people to create a new archive of material that will form the basis of two new touring exhibitions that will be on display in London Borough of Hounslow Libraries from September 2024.
Thanks to National Lottery players:
