Business Stories – Story Collectors Open Call

CPP Hounslow are developing a creative project that will explore the stories of businesses along Hounslow High Street, culminating in an art trail and exhibition in March 2025. The art trail and exhibitions will form a creative response to the stories – past, present and future – of Hounslow High Street, it’s businesses and the communities that use it.

CPP Hounslow are looking to recruit up to four Story Collectors. The Story Collectors will play a vital role in the project by:

  • Engaging with business owners to tell them about the project and record their stories
  • Photographing the High Street’s communities, spaces and businesses
  • Researching potential spaces and businesses to participate in the art trail

They will be supported by the project’s Volunteer Coordinator and Hounslow CPP Visual Arts Producer and will be provided with any training and resources needed to complete the project They will also work collaboratively with the commissioned artist, who will respond to the stories gathered.

We are looking for people who are:

  • Passionate about Hounslow, its diverse communities and unique cultural landscape.
  • Proactive and self motivated
  • Excited by the opportunity to engage with business owners and members of the public and listen to their stories
  • Interested in photography (although experience is not necessary!)
  • Reliable and committed to the delivery schedule.

Whilst this is an unpaid role, story collectors will be compensated with a voucher of their choice at a value of £200.
